Wind Sensor (Motion)
This is a sensor attached to the base of the awning. With this sensor when the awning is moved/shaken by the wind the awning will automatically retract as being left out in harsh winds could lead to a damaged awning.
NOTE: If a drop shade is optioned on your awning it will not retract with the awning as it is manually operated (if left down).
NOTE: If a drop shade is optioned, extending or retracting it can shake the awning enough to cause the sensor to retract the awning automatically.
Wind & Sun Sensor (Anemo)
This sensor can extend or retract the awning based on wind speed or sun exposure. If this sensor detects too strong of winds, it will retract the awning. This sensor can also extend the awning(s) if it detects sunlight.
NOTE: This sensor can operate multiple awnings, not just a single awning.

Without a sensor to automatically retract an awning if there are too strong winds or rain, there is a risk of lasting damage to your awning if left out.
